Raising the Bar Outside the Classroom

Ben is a true example of a student raising the bar at Harris Academy Beckenham. As part of his Silver Duke of Edinburgh award, he has been volunteering to help a young boy with Downs Syndrome and learning difficulties with his swimming. Ben was only required to complete six months of voluntary work however he is going above and beyond the requirements and continuing to help with swimming. Ben is having such a positive impact on this young boy and is not only helping him develop his swimming, but has also become the young boys role model. The parents of the young boy have praised Ben on how he engages with their son in a manner that is positive and thoughtful.

Congratulations Ben – we are all very proud of you.

Miss Carter
