Year 8 Mandarin Students Visit Chinatown
Year 8 students who take Mandarin (myself included) had the amazing opportunity to go to China Town on the 29th of June.
We partook in a scavenger hunt throughout the town, and had to work together to find the answers to different questions in the booklets we were given. These tasks and questions ranged from searching for items in shops, to finding the location of a dragon statue. This was so much fun and our trip was nowhere near its end.
We then had fun looking in shops and seeing all the lanterns and ornaments decorating the town. We brought Chinese snacks and bubble tea, and I was surprised at the wide variety of flavours available.
We then proceeded to one of the many Chinese restaurants and had loads of different dishes. We had prawn crackers, spring rolls, noodles, rice, tofu, sweet and sour chicken as well as duck. This food was all amazing and we even had really nice tea as well. The waiters were so nice and afterwards we went home.
Thanks you so much to the teachers on the trip and especially Ms Mo for organising this wonderful experience.
