At Harris Academy Beckenham we are proud to be launching a brand new approach to literacy across the curriculum, called ‘WORD’

 

The focus will be on developing a culture of fluent and proficient communication capacities that have innovative teaching and learning at the heart of its philosophy. This will be further enriched through the study of global literature from through the ages.

 

By communication capability we specifically refer to developing the basic technical accuracy of oral, reading and written skills to a proficient level of fluency which will enable students to perform creatively and confidently through their exploitation of each of these crucial mediums.
