Celebrating our Y11 Class of 2017 Achievements!

 

Thursday 30th November saw the return of our Year 11 cohort from last year to celebrate their successes and collect their certificates.

 

The evening was well-attended by students who now attend our Sixth Form and those who have continued their studies and adventures elsewhere. Staff shared stories of tutor groups and individuals about the students’ five years at the Academy, making specific mention of our ‘trailblazing’ ladies who were the first female students to join the Academy in Year 7.

 

Students each received their GCSE certificates and the final subject awards were presented to those nominated by staff for their work in Year 11. Ms Hickey closed the formal part of the evening by presenting Jack Kendall the award for ‘Student of the Year’ due to his outstanding GCSE performance.

 

Refreshments followed in the Academy canteen. It was a lovely evening for a fantastic cohort of students. Well done to all of our former Year 11s!
