Appeals - important update
In light of the current situation regarding the Covid-19 virus, we have taken the decision to extend the date by which admission appeal forms need to be returned to the Academy to 30 April 2020.
Where possible, if you have not done so already, please submit your appeal forms by email to S.Miles@harrisbeckenham.org.uk. Alternatively, completed forms should be posted to the Clerk to the Appeal Panel, Harris Academy Beckenham, Manor Way, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 3SJ.
Depending on the situation at the time it is hoped appeals will be held at the end of June/beginning of July 2020.

For entry in September 2020
Applications from boys and girls will be welcome from the start of the autumn term. If you are interested in a place, you should name the Academy on the Common Application Form (CAF) supplied to you by your Local Authority. For applications in 2020-2021 our PAN is 200.

Common Application Form: deadline 31st October 2019. This must be completed and returned to your LEA (Local Education Authority). We'll then be notified of your application and invite prospective Year 6 students for our banding test day.
Supplementary Information Form: deadline 31st October 2019. Please complete this form ONLY if you would like your child to be considered for any concessions during the Year 6 banding test. Concessions relate to issues that you feel would need to be taken into consideration when he/she takes the Year 6 banding test. (e.g. epilepsy, hearing problems, sight conditions, problems with reading or writing, including dyslexia, mobility etc)?
Please return your completed Supplementary Information Form directly to Harris Academy Beckenham. The SEN Coordinator will then make the decision as to the appropriate concession required (e.g. wheelchair access, scribes, larger print etc). NB: completion of a Supplementary Information Form does not constitute an application to the Academy and is only used for the purpose of the Year 6 banding test. You must complete the Local Education Authority Common Application Form as well.
Year 6 Banding Test Date: Friday 13th December 2019. We use Banding tests to ensure we're admitting pupils with a wide range of academic abilities. Everyone who applied for Harris Academy Beckenham will be sent an official invitation letter nearer the time.
National Offer Day Date: Monday 2nd March 2020.
For parents/carers who wish to appeal
Parent(s) wishing to appeal against the Academy’s decision should complete an Appeal Form stating the reason for the appeal based on the published Admissions Criteria.
Completed forms should be sent for the attention of Clerk to the Appeal Panel, Harris Academy Beckenham, Manor Way, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 3SJ. Forms should be submitted by 30th April 2020.
The appeals will be heard in private by an Independent Appeal Panel. The Clerk to the Appeal Panel will make an appointment within a reasonable time. Please note that:
- Appeals may be made in English or the parents’/carers’ first language.
- Only one appeal per application is allowed.
- Appeals are conducted in person, and you may bring a friend.
