HABE Team in Enterprise National Final!

The team were accommodated by the Premier League in London the night before the event at a central hotel and were given an evening meal at Pizza Express. This allowed the team to practise their pitch together and make any last minute adjustments. The team demonstrated the resourcefulness that helped them get to the final by including last minute information they received from the CEO of Topps, the company that produces Match Attax in their final presentation.

The team were mentored in the lead up to the event by Kevin Plumb, Head of Legal at the Premier League who thought they were in with a chance of taking the title, “The boys did extraordinarily well. Of the three semi-finalists at the Emirates, theirs was the most improved and it was clear just how much effort had been put in. I thought they had a really good shot at being read out as the winners. They were clear, logical, and well-reasoned. The presentation was slicker, the app looked great, the finances had been worked on. The letter from the Council was perfect and the way they’d worked in Topps right at the last minute shows flexibility and confidence. I work with barristers on a daily basis and this is one of their key skill sets – being given last minute information and working it seamlessly into the case/presentation. I’m sure they are, but you should all be immensely proud of your achievements – I think you were the youngest group there and outshone many older teams.”

Throughout the competition the team have demonstrated great reciprocity and impressed all the judges that they have met. They have developed some very valuable life skills along the way that will help prepare them for their future.
