Degree Apprenticeship Workshop
On Wednesday 14th of January, our Careers Lead Miss Dunn and our Careers Advisor Ms Jackson hosted a Degree Apprenticeship Workshop with our Year 12 Students, going over what a Degree Apprenticeship was and how students can apply for one, and the support available for them if they choose to do so. Students were shocked to find out that there are over 100 different industries offering Degree Apprenticeships, and that the average cost of a Degree Apprenticeship to an employer was £150,000, when broken down to include their university fees, wages (averaging between £20,000 and £30,000!) and their additional employment costs, which really helped to solidify why the application process for a degree apprenticeship was so detailed. Lots of students talked avidly about looking into Apprenticeships as a whole and were keen to look into a Degree Apprenticeship as a potential alternative next step. Our lower school students also had an assembly this week on Apprenticeships and the benefits of completing one.
