Geographers in Action – Where the river meets Y11!
On the 18th December, the Year 11 Geography GCSE students completed their Physical Fieldwork on the River Ravensbourne, where they were investigating how the characteristics of a river change as it flows.
The students enthusiasm for being out in the river, despite being up against some interesting weather forecasts, students created a thoroughly positive environment in which they carried out the work. The classes broke down into smaller working groups where students had to coordinate roles and responsibilities to collect data, and we think was the most efficient group we've had when running river fieldwork!
Despite a small distraction when students spotted the Millwall players practicing at the training ground next to the river, with one lucky fan who got a ball from them, the students displayed amazing grit and resilience in the face of some challenging weather conditions in order to complete their work, and we are very proud of the work they have completed towards their Geography GCSE!
