A Successful Athletics Season at HABE!

It has been a successful season for athletics at Harris Beckenham. Both the boys and girls teams have made huge improvements on last year's results with some record-breaking individual performances from the students involved.

At the recent Bromley Minors event held at Norman Park, our Girls team finished an overall 7th place, an improvement of 5 places compared with last year, beating schools such as Colfes and Farringtons. The Year 7 girls finished in an exceptional 4th place and the Year 8 girls in 8th place. Mentions must go to Lily Burns for finishing in 2nd place in the Shot put and Georgia Lawrence in 3rd place for the 100 metres.

Our Boys teams also did extremely well at the Bromley Minors event, finishing an overall 5th place, only 15 points behind 4th. Our Year 7 team finished in 3rd place closely behind Langley Park and Ravenswood School. The Year 8 team did well finishing in 8th place. Daniel Maier had a fantastic performance, finishing in 3rd place in both the 200 metres and the long jump. Tyriq Cole also did amazingly well, finishing 3rd in the Hurdles and the Javelin.

All of our students have shown fantastic resilience and commitment this season. Although our results show huge improvements from previous years, we are keen to continue to build on this success and aim to be one of the top schools in the borough.
