Year 9 Football Team Continue Their Undefeated Success!

On paper, this was  the biggest challenge of the season. However, the boys showed true grit overlooking the status of their competitors as cup winners. Shakru Lumu opened the score within 10 minutes of play to put HABE on the front foot, Greenwich then replied within minutes to level the score 1-1 at half time.

Greenwich went ahead as the second half opened, HABE then pulled a goal back through Shakru Lumu. From then on it was end-to-end football, you score, we score. Success Eguzoro added a third, before Joshua Ledwith scored the goal of the game with an exceptional 20-yard free kick. With 4-4 the final score, nail biting extra time beckoned. As the pendulum swung our way in the final 5 minutes of added time, Shakru Lumu latched on to a Jordan Ormsby pass to complete his hat-trick and seal the victory. A special mention to Mmesoma Okechkwu – who was the real driving force of the team, committed to every tackle therefore truthfully named the ‘man of the match’.

Squad: Alfie Cook, Joshua Abass, Myles Goulbourne, Tony Ngounou, Jack Tuffin, Aaron De-Roche Igini, Ben Bennett [C], Mmesoma Ockechku, Jordan Ormsby, Joshua Ledwith, Shakru Lumu, Dean Osman, Will Thomas, Success Eguzoro, Matis Godet, Ryan Isted.
